Trusted Hospitals uses two data models to ensure the general public has a robust yet simple understanding when choosing a hospital. Our ranking model draws governmental data from Medicare.gov which accounts for 30 percent of the weight. The 70% remaining weight is based on consumer reviews from FindAHospital.app site which collects user data about the overall hospital experience. The data collected is divided into 7 measure groups or categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient overall experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care, and efficient use of medical imaging. We believe these are the pillars that can help a patient gather an accurate picture of a hospital experience.
Once reporting thresholds are met, a hospital’s overall rating is calculated using only those measures for which data are available. A hospital may not be able to report data on all measures, due to the number or type of patients they treat.
TrustedHospitals.com data collections have begun and the first Top 100 Hospital Awards will be issued in 2022.
